Welcome From Our Principal, Dr. Cathey 
Thank you for visiting the Haywood Elementary School webpage. We are a diverse community of learners in south Nashville with a long and rich history strengthened by our students, our parents, our teachers and a host of community partners.
Because we believe in the power of our students, we are constantly on the move. We use blended instructional strategies to fully engage our learners and prepare them for the next level of work. We address social and emotional needs through our counseling program and extra-curricular activities.
We seek to improve our instruction in all content areas by using data to collaboratively plan engaging tasks for our students. And, we continuously seek to improve teaching and learning.
Each day at Haywood we begin anew, as if it is a first day of the school year with anticipation of new opportunities, new learning, new challenges and new successes. We look forward to partnering with you on behalf of our scholars as we build for them and ourselves a more fulfilling future.
